What is Stoora?
Stoora is an Internet based service allowing buyers of companies that wish to subcontract the manufacture of some components or assemblies, to obtain the best prices, quickly and free of charge, from suppliers the world over or in selected countries.
Likewise, this service allows outsourcing suppliers, whatever their size, to receive, also from the whole world, RFQs that fit exactly their manufacturing activities.
Industrial sourcing: some problems for both buyers and suppliers
For a buyer, the industrial worldwide market is an obscure market, ceaselessly changing: new suppliers emerge and disappear, new techniques and equipments are introduced, new products are available.
Moreover, a buyer cannot find outright components that have to be manufactured to his own specifications; the best price/value ratio is often based on a temporary combination of adequate equipment and available machine-time…
So how does a buyer find the “best” supplier!?
There is no adequate answer!
Today, the problem is solved in a random manner: the buyer visits shows, answers adds, gets tips from others; there is no way today to access the whole market and therefore be certain to obtain the best offer! A costly endeavour!
An outsourcing supplier, able to manufacture a wide variety of components cannot advertise original components he doesn’t know about, nor can he alert potential buyers when he has some available machine-time, an occurrence he must avoid if he wants to maximize profits…
So how does he find clients at the right time, when they need him!?
There is no adequate answer!
Suppliers have also been grappling with this problem in a random manner: advertising their equipment, making blind calls, paying for booths in trade shows, a lot of time and money spent never knowing which prospective buyer may need them, nor when.
Moreover, buyers and suppliers don’t speak the same language: the former talk products, the latter, machinery
The Stoora solution
Stoora has created a common language between buyers and suppliers based on the “manufacturing results“
Instead of mentioning their machines, suppliers register directly on the Stoora website the “manufacturing results“ they can obtain with these same machines by merely checking the appropriate boxes on the same kind of grids that buyers will use to define their RFQs. The matching is thus immediate
With STOORA, everything then becomes as simple as 1 – 2 - 3:
-
1 - SIMPLE
A buyer uploads on the Stoora website his RFQ defined in terms of "manufacturing results", adding drawings of the desired component.
And it's free -
2 - EFFICIENT
Only suppliers that have registered their ability to obtain the same manufacturing results receive and can read the - anonymous - RFQ and study its drawings.
And it's free -
3 - PERTINENT
Only such suppliers, that have decided they can do the job, call on the buyer since, in order to obtain his name they have to pay fixed fee (not connected to the job’s value)
Stoora’s advantages for both buyers and suppliers
On the buyer side:
- Reducing procurement costs
- Saving time on finding new suppliers
- Finding simply, quickly and at no cost, new supliers and new manufacturing techniques
- Being called only by the "right" suppliers, those that can answer their specific need at the "right" time
- SMEs, often without an available engineering department, don’t need to know which manufacturing activity is the best able to manufacture their sourced components
On the supplier side:
- New sales opportunities, simply and quickly
- Receiving only qualified RFQs that fit their manufacturing activities
- The RFQs, complete with their drawings, can be studied free of charge
- No yearly subscription, no registration fee: just a fixed fee to pay when they decide to get in touch with a buyer
